x + 2y = 3 -- Eq 1
3x+ 5y = 7 -- Eq. 2
Equation 1 multiplied by 3 gives
3x + 6y = 9 -- Eq. 3
Eq. 3 minus Eq. 2 gives
(3x + 6y) - (3x + 5y) = 9 - 7
y = 2
Sub y = 2 into Eq. 1,
x + 2 (2) = 3
x + 4 = 3
x = -1
