① Rewrite the ratio in terms of fraction first.

B : C
= 3 2/5 : 0.4
= 17/5 : 4/10
= 17/5 : 2/5

② They have same denominator 5. Multiply both sides by 5 to make them whole numbers.

B : C = 17 : 2

Now, A : B = 2 : 1

Rewrite it as :
A : B = 34 : 17 (multiply by 17)

We have now made the units for B the same for both ratios.

So A : B : C

= 34 : 17 : 2

118 : 142

59 : 71 (divide by 2)

So 118 ÷ 142 = 59 ÷ 71

(Or

118/142 = 59/71)

118 = 59/71 x 142
