Number of each chairs = x
For P chairs = $20x
For Q chairs = $15x
a) Total amount = $20x + $15x = $35x

b) Total number of chairs = 2x
If spend same amount on each type of chair,
P chair amount = Q Chair amount
Total amount of each type = $35x/2
Number of P chair = 35/2 /20 = 7x/8
Number of Q chair = 35/2 /15 = 7x/6
Total = 2x+1
7x/8 + 7x/6 = 2x+ 1
42x + 56x = 96x + 48
2x = 48
x = 24
Total Chairs = 2 X 24 = 48.

c) Total for P chairs = $20 X 24 = $480
Total for Q chairs - $15 X 24 = $360
Therefore, $480 - $360 = $120 type P chairs than type Q Chairs.

Hope this helps.
