Hi I would like to ask how do u know for E area force hv to use a clockwise direction?
According the to question, the 450 N force is pointing towards the bottom right corner. Hence its y and x component forces will point downwards and rightwards respective.
Now imagine the bracket is movable and you pin B with a thumbnail. And then apply a F1x force on E. The entire bracket will turn clockwise about B. Similarly, when you apply a F1y force on E, the entire bracket will turn clockwise about B.
