For this, we need to compute the total sales earned for each brand of pen.

90 pieces of Pen A are sold at $3.50 each.
140 pieces of Pen B are sold at $2.40 each.
130 pieces of Pen C are sold at $2.50 each.
180 pieces of Pen D are sold at $1.80 each.

Total sales of Pen A
= 90 x $3.50
= $31.50

Total sales of Pen B
= 140 x $2.40
= $33.60

Total sales of Pen C
= 130 x $2.50
= $32.50

Total sales of Pen D
= 180 x $1.80
= $32.40

So it cannot be that Pen D generates the most quantity of sales, even though the shop sells the greatest number of Pen D.

So, the statement is false.

It is false. Not “not possible to tell”.

Unless they meant by “makes the most money” as sales price - cost price.

If they do mean the profit earned (sales - cost), we won’t be able to tell the result since we do not know the actual cost price of the pens (we are only given the sales prices).
