Sum of roots
= α + 1/β + β + 1/α
= α + β + 1/β + 1/α
= 6 + α/αβ + β/αβ
= 6 + (α + β)/αβ
= 6 + 6/4
= 15/2
Product of roots
= (α + 1/β)(β+ 1/α)
= αβ + α/α + β/β + 1/αβ
= 4 + 1 + 1 + 1/4
= 6¼
= 25/4
This tells us that c/a = 25/4
-b/a = 15/2 = 30/4
so b/a = -30/4
Equation in the form of x² + b/a x + c/a = 0:
x² - 30/4 x + 25/4 = 0
Multiply by 4,
4x² - 30x + 25 =0
= α + 1/β + β + 1/α
= α + β + 1/β + 1/α
= 6 + α/αβ + β/αβ
= 6 + (α + β)/αβ
= 6 + 6/4
= 15/2
