Since both the chocolate muffins and vanilla muffins were equally packed into the boxes and there were 9 chocolate muffins in each box, 981 divide 9 to get 109 boxes. Since there are 109 boxes and 5 vanilla muffins in each box, total number of vanilla muffins = 109 times 5 to get 545 vanilla muffins.
