Candice, if you let BEC = x, you will soon realise that

- in triangle EBD, angle EBD = x
- in triangle BEC, angle EBC = x
- in triangle ABC, angle ACB = x

So, triangles ABC, CBE and BED are all similar triangles.

We proceed to use numbers to find length ED.

I just realised that there is a shorter method than this.
