A curve undergoes the transformation A, B and C in succession:

A: a translation of 2 units in the negative x-direction
B: a scaling parallel to the x-axis by a scale factor 2
C: a translation of 1 unit in the positive y-direction

The equation of the resulting curve is y = 2x + 9 - [2 / (x - 4)].

Find the equation of the curve before the three transformations were effected. [3]

It has been more than 10 years ago since I studied transformations and I have hardly touched it in the 10 years, so I might be wrong.
