1.
Find area first
Area of square = 20 x 20 = 400
Area of circle = pi * r * r
Area of circle = pi * 10 * 10 = 100 * pi
Area of semicircle = 50 * pi
Area of shaded area = Area of square + Area of semicircle (one of the semicircle can go into that cut out area)
= 400 + 50 * pi
= 400 + 157
= 557 cm square

Find perimeter next.
Length of the curved line = half of circumference = 1/2 x circumference of circle
= 1/2 x 2 x pi x radius
= 1/2 x 2 x pi x 10
= 10 pi
Total perimeter = 3 curved lines + 1 straight line
= 3 x 10 pi + 20
= 30 pi + 20
= 94.2 + 20
= 114.2 cm

2.
Find area first.
Area of shaded figure = Area of big semicircle ( the small semicircle on the left side can fit into the cut out region at the bottom of the big semicircle)
= half of area of big circle
= 0.5 x pi x radius x radius
= 0.5 x pi x 14 x 14
= 0.5 x 22/7 x 14 x14
= 308 cm square

Find perimeter next.
Perimeter = 2 short curved lines + 1 long curved line

Length of 2 short curved lines = circumference of small circle
= 2 x pi x small radius
= 2 x pi x 7
= 2 x 22/7 x 7
= 44

Length of long curved line = half of circumference of big circle
= 1/2 x 2 x pi x big radius
= 1/2 x 2 x pi x 14
= 1/2 x 2 x 22/7 x 14
= 44

Total perimeter = 44 + 44 = 88 cm.
