Q1

Diameter of circle is 15.5 cm
Radius of circle
= Half of the diameter
= 1/2 * 15.5
= 7.75 cm.

Area of circle
= π * 7.75²
= 60.0625 * π cm²

Area of shaded part
= 60.0625 * π cm²

Now, area of quarter circle
= 1/4 * 60.0625 * π
= 15.015625 π cm²

Total area of rectangle
= 60.0625 * π + 15.015625 * π
= 75.078125 * π cm²
= 235.8648859 cm²
~ 236 cm²

Q2

Let the radius of the circle be radius.

Total area of the 12 circles
= 12 * π * radius * radius
= 12* 22/7 * radius * radius
= 37 5/7 * radius * radius

Length of rectangle = 8 * radius
Width of rectangle = 6 * radius
Area of rectangle = 48 * radius * radius

Fraction of rectangle covered by the circles
= 37 5/7 divided by 48 (since the radius is the same)
= 11/14

Fraction of rectangle not covered by the circles
= 1 - 11/14
= 3/14
