Sec 1 students don't learn how to solve quadratic equations.

Worse still, this particular quadratic equation can't even be factorised.

This is a Sec 3 level question.

But well, I will still use the quadratic formula anyway.

x = -4 +- square root of (4^2 - 4 * 1 * (-7)), whole thing divided by 2 (1)

x = -4 +- sqrt 44, whole thing divided by 2
x = -4 +- 2 sqrt 11, whole thing divided by 2
x = -2 +- sqrt 11

x = -2 + sqrt 11 or x = -2 - sqrt 11
