clearly the volume must match.
since volume does not match, it means that something is not right somewhere. in such case, should immediately check the working.
the mistake is in the 3rd line of where the quadratic formula comes in. the -1 suddenly changes to (+)1.
the correct answers should be …
x = 9 or -10(reject)
when x =9 giving …
length = 14 cm
width = 12 cm
height = 10 cm
volume = 1680 cm3
