x - 6 = 3
Add 6 to both sides of the equation.
x - 6 + 6 = 3 + 6
x = 9

5x = 30
Divide both sides of the equation by 5.
5x / 5 = 30/5
x = 6

6 - 4x = 8 - 2x
6 - 4x - 6 = 8 - 2x - 6
-4x = 2 - 2x
-4x + 2x = 2 - 2x + 2x
- 2x = 2
-2x /(-2) = 2/(-2)
x = -1
x - 6 = 3
