Given Ron speed to be 3.5km/h,

Start off by converting time from minutes to hour , time taken = 30mins = 0.5hr

Distance travelled by Ron = speed x time taken = 3.5km/h x 0.5h = 1.75km

Since they walked in opposite direct and end up being 4km apart,

Distance travelled by Jake = 4km - 1.75km = 2.25km

Speed of Jake = distance / time taken = 2.25 / 0.5 = 4.5km/h
