Another way :

The three corner triangles have an angle sum of 180° x 3 = 540°

Now we take away the 3 unlabelled angles (one per corner triangle) to get our sum of ∠ a to ∠ f.

But notice that these 3 unlabelled angles are the angles of the big triangle, so their sum is 180°.

So sum of ∠a to ∠f = 540° - 170° = 360°
