I really cannot get the answer in whole numbers, kindly help please...

= $1000 - $142
= $858
Since 1 bicycle cost $226 more than 1 scooter, and 3 scooters + 1 bicycle cost $858
If we subtract $226 we get the cost of 4 scooters.
$858 - $225 = $632
Cost of 1 scooter = $632 ÷ 4
= $158
= $1000 - $142
= $858
