If we pretend that we get 10 grams of cheese for $0.99 and we have $99, the amount of cheese we will get is -

(99 divided by 0.99) times 10 which is equivalent to 100 grams.

However, now we have x grams instead of 10 grams and $y instead of $99. So, our expression will be -

(y divided by 0.99) times x
(Note: 0.99 is the same as 99/100)

From there, we get -
(y divided by 99/100) times x

Which can be simplified to (100xy)/99

Sorry I ran out of rough paper so I couldn't write this out :( .... Lemme know if you need to clarify stuff.
