Let number of tourist in ferry ⛴ at X = u
at Y = 3u/5 + 80
at Z = 3u/5 + 80 -223 + 38
= 3u/5 -105
3/8 of Y
= 3/8 (3u/5 + 80)
= 9u/40 + 30
Therefore,,,,
Z = 9u/40 + 30
3u/5 -105 = 9u/40 + 30
3u/8 = 135
1u = 135 x 8 ÷ 3 = 360
a) Z = 3u/5 -105
= (3 x 360)/5 - 105
= 111 tourist
b) X = 1u = 360 tourist.
