Jennifer hadn1/3 as many cards as Phillip. After Phillip gave 12 cards to Jennifer, Jennifer had 3/5 as many cards as Phillip. How many cards do they have altogether?

remember that the total number din't change as they are just exchanging amongst one another. therefore the total number remains the same throughout
