Distance = speed x time

If the distance travelled for first part is 350km,

Distance travelled for 2nd part = 470km - 350km = 120km

Ratio of distance travelled = 350 : 120
= 35 : 12

Since the time taken is the same, this means that the ratio of average speed for 1st part to 2nd part of journey is 35 : 12

Difference in speed = 35 parts - 12 parts
= 23 parts

23 parts = 15km/h since difference also = 15km/h

So 1 part = 15km/h ÷ 23 = 15/23 km/h

Speed for 2nd part = 15/23 km/h x 12

= 180/23 km/h

= 7 19/23 km/h

≈ 7.83 km/h (2 decimal places)
