34 - 22.5 = 12.5cm

That's the height of the space in the second diagram.

Remember that base doesn't change.

Volume of water you can fill in that space = 12.5cm x 48cm²

= 600 cm³

Volume of water currently inside
= 18cm x 48cm²
= 864cm³

Capacity of tank

= 600 cm³ + 864 cm³
= 1464 cm³
= 1.464 l
