Let the price of a child, adult and senior citizen ticket be x, y and z respectively.

For each of the 3 days, find the total ticket sales in terms of x ,y and z. equate this to the earnings or the day.

You'll get 3 equations in 3 unknowns :

20x + 45y + 70z = 770
50x + 90y + 40z = 1070
40x + 80y + 40z = 960

Solve using matrix method or with your scientific calculator with the built in simultaneous equations solver or GC (if permitted)

Once you solve for x and y, you can solve for p.

You should get x = 3, y = 8 and z = 5.

p = 35

Good evening Sonia! We simply form a series of simultaneous equations to solve this question. I used the traditional solving approaches to solve this question, but you can use your graphing calculator or even your calculator from last year to solve these equations!
