y = √(x - a)/(b - x) = √(x - a)/√(b - x)

dy/dx = [√(b - x)(1/2√(x - a)) - √(x - a)(-1/2√(b-x) ] / (b - x)

= [½√(b - x)/(x - a) + ½√(x - a)/(b - x) ] / (b - x)

= [√(b - x)/(x - a) + √(x - a)/(b - x) ] / 2(b - x)

When x = (a + b)/2,

dy/dx = [√(b - (a+b)/2)/((a+b)/2 - a) + √( (a+b)/2 - a)/(b - (a+b)/2 ) ] / 2(b - (a+b)/2 )

= [√( (2b - a - b)/2 / (a + b - 2a)/2 ) + √( (a + b -2a)/2 / (2b - a - b)/2 ) ] / (2b - (a + b) )

= [√(b - a)/(b - a) + √(b - a)/(b-a)] / (b - a)

= (√1 + √1) / (b - a)
= 2/(b - a)

Interesting. Looks like it's phased out nowadays. They don't even cover limits now
