Find lowest common multiple of given numbers
① LCM of a and b = 9800
= 2³ x 5² x 7²
②LCM of b and c = 539
= 7² x 11
③ LCM of a and c = 2200
= 11 x 2³ x 5²
Looking at ③ , it tells us that neither a and c has the factor 7² that is in ① and ②.
So this means b = 7²
Looking at ① , it tells us that neither a and b has the factor 11 that is in ② and ③.
So this means c = 11.
Looking at ②, it tells us that neither b and c has the has the factor 5² and 2³ that is in ① and ③.
So this means a = 5² x 2³
= 2³ x 5² + 7² + 11
= 200 + 49 + 11
= 260
Remember that the LCM must contain all the factors in both numbers
