An idea is to convert the positions of p and q in the expression p - q to become q - p (because they look similar but they are opposites of each other), but in compensation for the swapping of positions, a negative sign has to be introduced. This negative sign cancels out the minus connector between the two fractions, and hence the minus connector changes to a plus connector.
