Let number of pupils = u
1. Each get 5 sweets , left 3 sweets,
Total sweets = 5u +3
2. Each get 3 sweets, left 59 sweets
Total 3u+59
Therefore, 5u +3 = 3u+59
2u = 56
1u = 28
Total students = 28.
