I suspect that Q6ii is faulty, since M is going to lie along the midpoint of S and W and will thus lie along the x-axis. As such, gradient OM will always be zero and there will not be any change to the gradient at all.
I have read the entire question over and over again, and I suspect that part i is asked wrongly. I suspect M should be the midpoint of QR rather than QS.
