Quite weird. I could not factorise that expression. I suspect a mistyping of the question, because the second part is supposed to be related to the first part.

In fact, I found part i also weird. The expression in part a is supposed to be divided by (2x + 1) after I thought about it further.

Yes, apparently part i is also faulty.

Grapes, change “3x + 1” into “2x + 1” for part i and “2x3 - 3x2 - 1“ into “2x3 - 3x2 + 1” for both parts ii and iii. This should be much better.
