Good evening Cheryl! Here are my workings for this question. I have tried to do this question within the scope of the O Levels, but it gets very long winded and complicated. There is still a page two to my workings.

Thank you!! However I’m a little confused on how can we tell b=2 looking at the last step :(

Good evening Cheryl! After we have finished the entire round of integration, we can do a direct comparison with the given form in the question, because the structure of the terms (fractions, coefficients etc) are identical.

I have 2P (1 - P/6000) in my final expression against bP (1 - P/a) which is given. Isn’t the P, brackets, minus sign, fraction sign all placed in the same way? Now that we have noticed the similarities, we can just do a direct comparison to conclude that a = 6000 and b = 2.

The reason why I did all the long workings leading up to the final expression was just so that I could make a direct comparison above, which would not have been possible in the very complicated form.
