Explanation described here. See below for answers:) The idea is to use the basic definition of sin and cos related to sides of triangles: eg sin refers to ratio of opposite side to hypotenuse.

Answers. Be careful that a positive sin value suggests 2 possibilities for the angle Θ. Similarly for negative sin value, in which the angle will then be in the third or fourth quadrants (eg sin(3π/2) = -1).
