one traditional method of solving quadratic is through using the method i did at the side. for that method, basically for the first two column, the bottom row must be a product of the first and second row. for the last column, the bottom row must be the sum of the first two row.
for the second column it doesn’t matter where you place the -15 and 23 as long as it adds up to 8x in the last column.

add on: for the second column i think it’s just guessing and check but you make it easier by choosing only the numbers that help you get the sum in the last column.

label the sides of the fence with unknowns to help you so you can use substitutions
