As the hint given. What you did is correct. Simplify the equation until you get a quadratic equation than you solve it. Both questions are same method
How do I simplify it more?
For E Maths questions, look for common terms in the denominator. Do not straight away cross multiply to result in cubic equations.
I see a common x + 1 on both sides in Q3...
Multiply yours RHS by x - 4 on both the numerator and denominator, then simply read off the numerator.
1 = 3x (x - 4)
And so on.
