one method to find out if it’s maximum or minimum is to do the second derivative test which is to differentiate two times. for this second derivative test, if you end up with a negative answer, it’s a maximum point. if it’s a positive answer, it’s a minimum point.

to find the value of x at the max/min point, just sub. dy/dx = 0
