I messed up this qns(part III) before in my actual a levels by reading n term as sum of terms. So do be careful.

Oh wait. My explanation for part ii is wrong. The sum is actually 0 due to the numerator. Hence not equal to 156

Yeah can't, conventional algebra like use of quadratic eqn can solve up to the power of 2. For higher powers, you need to use GC

Sorry, I didn't mean part ii. I meant part iii. For the inequality with both the indices and polynomial. Is there any way to solve for n algebraically?

Not that I know of.

For part ii, the correct explanation is when r=1, 3(1-1^n)/1-1=0/0, which is undefined.
Not =0, not =infinity. Something to learn.
