With a total of 2700 pupils, 5/9 of the students means there are 1500 boys.

The number of boys who wear specs are 2/5 of the number of boys = 600.

Since 4/5 of the students wearing specs are chinese, that means 1/5 of the boys wearing specs are indian and malays, meaning 600×1/5 = 120 boys

From this 120 boys, 1/3 of them are indians, means 2/3 are malay. Therefore the number of malay boys wearing specs are 120 × 2/3 = 80

Hope it helps!
