Assume all correct 20x5=100
Difference when when 1 is wrong
19x5-1=94
100-94=6
Difference between assumption and actual
100-70=30
To find out how many wrong answers, take difference between assumption and actual divided by difference in total marks when 1 answer is wrong,
30/6=5
:)
Assumption method
———————————
20 questions
Correct answer = 5 marks
Wrong answer = -1 mark

Assumed all answer correctly = 20 x 5 = 100 marks
Shortfall = 100 - 70 = 30 marks
Different between correct and wrong answer = 5 + 1 = 6 marks
Answer wrong question = 30/6 = 5 questions.
Hope this helps.
