One Answer Below
Anyone can contribute an answer, even non-tutors.
Anyone please?
J: 20u
Miche: 800 mL
remainder: 70u - 800 (<= 10/10)
Micha: 21u - 240 (<= 3/10)
left: 49u - 560 (for K)
1/3 of Micha = 200 mL
3/3 of Micha = 600 mL
21u - 240 = 600
1u = 40
90u = 3600
at first 3600 mL
.
.
.
after giving Michelle
the remainder is 70u-800
Michael takes 3/10 of remainder
so
3/10 x (70u-800)
= 3/10 x70u - 3/10 x 800
= 21u - 240

& we work forward according to qn to check ans, k?
total is 4500 mL
give Josh: 2/9 x 4500 = 1000 mL
left: 3500mL
give Michelle: 800mL
left: 3500-800 = 2700mL
give Michael: 3/10 x 2700mL = 810mL
but this contradict ur own calculation of Michael getting 600mL
so do u agree that 4500mL is incorrect ans?
900 x 4 = 3600ml. (Ans)
