a) what does -600 mean? -600 graphically represents the y intercept (when X=0). Thus, -600 would represent the company making a loss of 600 dollars when 0 goods are sold.

B) how to find maximum profit? Graphically, that is when the slope or gradient = 0. Any more or less will result in a lower profit. Hence, difference y with respect to X. dy/dx=0

C) sub value of X into the original profit equation to find Y Which is the maximum profit.

Not a good approach considering this is asked as a Sec 3 E Maths question.

Differentiation is only covered early in Sec 4 A Maths.
