kinda stuck here!
question: a map is drawn to a scale of 1 : 10000. the distance between two towns on the map is 12 cm. find the real distance between the two towns, giving your answer in kilometres.

u got 120 000 right, ukr?

but do u know 120 000
is 120 000 cm?

so now u convert 120 000 cm to km

120 000 cm
= 1200 m
= 1.2 km

1cm:0.1km

12cm on map= 0.1 × 12
=1.2 km
