let P = sin x + cos ½x &
Q = 1 - cos x + sin ½x

(ii)
qn becomes P/Q = √3
&
P/Q = 1/(Q/P)
= {(1 - cos x + sin ½x)/(sin x + cos ½x)}⁻¹

using part (i),
P/Q
= [ tan ½x ]⁻¹

eqn becomes
[ tan ½x ]⁻¹ = √3
tan ½x = 1/√3
