Shift x to the right side. Square both sides. Expand the right side. Shift everything back to the left. You should now get a cubic equation. Solve using the standard method (guess root, factorise etc).

Technique: we do not know how to solve equations in the form of x + x^(3/2) = 2. So we manipulate it into sth we are familiar with: the cubic equation!
You should find it a breeze from there on, if you are familiar with solving cubic equations in general:)
