Thanks but I don’t really understand why b2^-4ac is smaller than 0?? How did you get that??

This has something to do with the square rooted term b2 - 4ac in the quadratic formula. The number of roots (ie solutions) is highly dependent on this square root.

I will explain in greater detail later when I am free, but could be late.
