For part a, we replace x2 by y.

For part b, we replace ln x by y.

For part c, we replace x by -y.

Good evening Annie! Here are my workings for part c.

Although the denominator term “c” is an unknown number which can be positive or negative, converting from -c to c is essentially a multiplication or division by -1 regardless of the value of c, and thus my working steps can be treated as multiplication or division by a negative number without any change to the number c itself, and hence the inequality signs can be changed safely.
