Question
secondary 4 | E Maths
One Answer Below
Anyone can contribute an answer, even non-tutors.
The ans is
P(A winning)= 125/369
P(B winning)= 100/369
P(C winning)= 80/369
P(D winning)= 64/369
Not that I don't know, but this thing requires the use of some A-Level formula which O-Level students will not know.

Of course, "magic" is not important to understanding the question.
How does A win?
1. A gets the contract straightaway.
2. A doesn't get contract, BCD don't get the contract. A gets contract.
3. A doesn't get, BCD don't get, A doesn't get again, BCD don't get again, A gets contract.
etc etc.
That's the summation step that shows understanding of the question.
BCD are similar.
