Total area = 6/63 = 2/21
Shaded rectangle = 7
Total of rectangle = 12
Therefore, shaded area= 6/63 x 7/12
= 7/126 cm^2
= 1/18 cm^2

Take note, 6/63 = 2/21

Hi Amir, you can count that there are 7 boxes that are shaded out of total 12 boxes.
So the shaded area will be 7/12 of total area of the rectangle

Total area = 3/7 x 2/9 = 6/63 = 3/21
Shaded area = 7/12 x 3/21 = 1/12
