this is taught in A maths as alternate segment theorem.

from alternate segment theorem …
angle BAT = angle BPA
angle PAN = angle PBA

since E maths students do not learn this theorem, have to show it slightly longer way using basics.

angle x = 90 - angleOAB …. [radius tangent perpend.]
=90-(180-angleAOB)/2 ….[OAB isosceles triangle]
=90-90+(1/2)angleAOB
=angle APB ……... [angle centre 2x angle circumf.]
=40
