You know that the breadth of the rectangular garden is 8m, while its perimeter is 64m. So the length of the garden is
0.5*(64-8-8)=24m.

You should know that the area of a parallelogram is base*height, where the height is perpendicular to the base. The path in question is made up of two parallelograms, each with base measuring 3m. What is the sum of their heights?
