That 12y - 41 can be expressed as 12 (y - 3) - 5, so that there will be lots of y - 3 in the equation. If you compare part a and part b afterwards, the coefficients are all the same, just that instead of x, it’s now y - 3. So whatever solutions you have found for x in part a will be your solutions for y - 3 in part b. Simply add 3 to the solutions in part a to obtain the values of y.

Something like this will be good. For part i, if you are lazy to obtain the factors yourself and your calculator is of the model Casio fx-96 Sg plus, you can go into MODE —> 3: EQN —> 4: aX3... to find out the relevant roots.
