how to solve this pair of simultaneous equation using elimination method??
You can multiply one equation by 2. One of the variables will be the same. Then we subtract both equations.
x/6 + 4y/3 = 8
The first equation is
x/6 + y/3 = 4
Subtracting both equations,
(x/6 + 4y/3) - (x/6 + y/3) = 8 - 4
3y/3 = 4
y = 4
Putting this into the first equation,
x/6 + 4/3 = 4
x/6 = 8/3
x = 48/3
x = 16
a + 2b = 4
2a + b = 4
And you can proceed from there.
